Reliability Assessment of Converter- Dominated Power Systems Using Variance-Based Global Sensitivity Analysis

With the proliferation of renewable energy and power electronic converters in systems, reliability issue has raised more research attention than ever before. This paper proposes a comprehensive framework to assess system considering effect from various converter uncertainties. For stage, we formulate model for each based on several semiconductor devices, which ambient uncertainties topologies are considered. estimate indicators through non-sequential Monte Carlo simulation calculate their variances. Afterward, leverage machine learning regression algorithms between two stages establish nonlinear relation. Moreover, variance-based sensitivity analysis (SA) is conducted rank identify most influential with respect variance EENS. Based SA conclusions, operators can take proactive actions mitigate potential risk system.
